Imagewell, not quite. However the Council are now looking for Snow Wardens for the coming winter. Amazing to think, but the winter will come.

So if you are interested, read on …

Dear Volunteer

I am writing to ask whether you are willing to be actively involved in the ‘Snow Wardens’ initiative this coming winter?

I was reassured by my colleagues in the Highways team that we will be able to implement similar strategy as in the previous year, with trainings, gear and grit supply for volunteers.

We are continuously looking for new volunteers and training sessions will be scheduled later in the year. If you know someone who would like to participate please ask him/her to contact me.

The Council is undertaking a review of its road gritting routes and grit bin provision for the 2013/14 winter maintenance season. To find out more and take part in the consultation visit: http://www.york.gov.uk/info/200185/roads_highways_and_pavements/402/winter_maintenance_services

The consultation form gives and option to volunteer to become a snow warden.
